Payment and taxes

Buyer's premium, how to pay, when payment is due, cancellations and taxes.

Buyer's premium and fees

A buyer's premium of 18%, plus a $2.50 auction item fee per lot, applies to all auctions.

Payment methods

For invoices under $500, we accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and e-transfer. The credit card on file is charged automatically after the auction closes, without prior notice. To pay by e-transfer instead, please email accounting at etransfer@megasaversoutlet.com.

For invoices over $500, payment must be made by bank wire or e-transfer. Payment details are sent by email with the invoice.

Payment terms

Payment must be received on the same day the invoice is issued. If it is not, your participation in any ongoing auctions ends and your account is temporarily suspended until the outstanding balance is paid in full.

If the balance remains unpaid for more than two weeks, the account is permanently closed and no future orders are accepted.

Auction cancellation policy

If you win an auction item but no longer wish to go ahead with the purchase (buyer's remorse), Mega Savers allows you to cancel it for a restocking fee. The fee is 30% of the sale price (minimum $15 per lot), plus applicable taxes, and must be paid in full before the cancellation is processed.

Cancellation requests are not considered for items that were picked up more than 7 days earlier, or for items that have been opened or used. Items sold as part of a "1/3 condition" listing are final sale and cannot be cancelled.

Taxes

All items sold by Mega Savers are taxed according to the province of pickup. GST is charged on every item, and PST is added where it applies.
