Privacy policy
Updated October 20, 2026. How we handle your information on this website and on the auction site.
Who we are and what this policy covers
This policy explains how Mega Savers Auction ("we", "us") handles information about you on this website, and on the auction site at megasaversauction.com and the Mega Savers Auction app, where registration, bidding and payment happen.
The auction site and the app are run for us by Auction Mobility LLC. Under our agreement, Mega Savers Auction owns the information collected there, and Auction Mobility processes it on our behalf. Auction Mobility's own privacy policy also applies there.
Information you give us on this website
When you sign up for auction alerts, we keep:
- your first name
- your email address or mobile number
- the pickup location you chose, if you chose one
- the exact consent wording you agreed to, and when you signed up
- when you accepted the Terms and conditions, and which page you signed up on
- a scrambled code made from your internet (IP) address, not the address itself, to help us stop spam signups
When you search for a pickup location by town or postal code, the search is sent to our server and looked up with Google Maps or OpenStreetMap to find the nearest locations. It is not stored. When you use "Use my location", your device's location is used in your browser only, to sort the locations by distance. It is not sent to us.
Information collected on the auction site and app
According to Auction Mobility's privacy policy:
- When you register, you are asked for your name, email address, user name and password. You can also add a phone number.
- If you buy an item, your payment is handled by a third-party payment processor. Your name, billing address and order total are shared with the processor over a secure (encrypted) connection to complete your order. Your card number, expiry date and security code are stored by the payment processor, not by Auction Mobility.
- The app can send you push notifications about upcoming auctions. You can turn them off at any time in your device settings, and uninstalling the app stops all collection by the app.
- Information about how you use the site and app is collected automatically: the date and time of your visit, your device type, operating system and device ID, your phone network, location and the features you used. Auction Mobility describes this as not linked to your personal information, and keeps it for up to 24 months.
- Auction Mobility keeps your personal information for as long as you use the site or app, and afterwards as long as needed for its obligations to us or other legal obligations.
- Auction Mobility does not sell or rent your personal information. It shares it with us for our business purposes, including marketing, and with the service providers it needs to run the auction site, such as its payment processor.
- You can see and change your account information at any time by signing in. To delete it, contact us (below) or Auction Mobility at legal@auctionmobility.com, who will pass your request on to us.
Auction Mobility's policy also has notices for residents of California, Nevada, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom.
How we use your information
- to send you the emails or texts about new auctions and deals that you signed up for
- to answer your questions and help with your bids, pickups and orders
- to run this website and the auction site, keep them secure and stop spam and abuse
- to understand which pages, ads and campaigns bring visitors, and to improve them
How we share it
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- with the service providers that help us run our business, such as the company that hosts this website and its database (Railway, on servers in the United States), the email and text services we use to send alerts, and Auction Mobility for the auction site and app
- with the analytics and advertising services listed below, when they are in use
- when the law requires it, or to protect our customers, our business or others from fraud or abuse
Cookies and similar technologies
This website does not set its own cookies for visitors. It keeps the campaign tags from the link you arrived on (for example from an ad) in your browser's session storage until you close the tab, so a later bid on the auction site can be traced back to that ad. When advertising services are in use, the website asks you first and remembers your answer in your browser's local storage; "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page lets you change it. The people who edit this website have a sign-in cookie that only they receive.
Some parts of this website come from other companies, which receive your internet address and may set their own cookies:
- the fonts come from Adobe Fonts, which counts page views for font licensing
- the maps on pickup locations are Google Maps
- videos on our pages, when there are any, play from YouTube or Vimeo
- auction photos load from the auction site
Analytics and advertising services
These services are switched on for this website right now. They set their own cookies or similar technologies, and receive your internet address and the pages you visit. This list updates by itself when we add or remove one.
Analytics services load for every visitor. Advertising services load only after you accept them in the cookie banner, and stop on your next visit if you reject them later with "Cookie settings".
Meta Pixel
Advertising, only if you accept. Measures which Meta ads lead to signups and bids, and can show our ads to past visitors. Run by Meta (Facebook and Instagram). Their privacy policy (opens in a new tab). Your choices (opens in a new tab).
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from auction alerts at any time with the link in our messages, or by contacting us. When you unsubscribe, we mark your signup as unsubscribed and stop sending you alerts. Ask us if you would also like your signup deleted.
- Accept or reject advertising cookies in the cookie banner, and change your mind any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website still works without them.
- Choose which ads you see in Google's ad settings, Meta's ad preferences and Microsoft's ad settings, or opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at YourAdChoices.
- Stop Google Analytics in your browser with Google's opt-out add-on.
Keeping your information safe
This website and the auction site send information over encrypted connections (HTTPS). The list of auction alert signups can only be opened by our staff after they sign in. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, so please contact us right away if you think your information has been misused.
Seeing, correcting or deleting your information
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also withdraw your consent to our messages at any time. Contact us using the details below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our website or services change. The date at the top shows when it last changed. The version on this page is the one that applies.
